Ray Caesar updates his oeuvre

by Suzanne on October 29th, 2006

Ebb Tide & Coming Undone © Ray Caesar - click to enlarge

Whenever Ray Caesar updates his website with new works it feels like Christmas, Easter and Hallowe'en together here at Wurzeltod HQ. Above all if tentacles, corsets and fans are involved.

After all, Ray is something like the Übervater of this blog and I always thought that if there's an image out there that could sum up the whole point of Wurzeltod™ - if there really is one - it'd be Ray's Merchant of Dreams.

So thank you, Ray, for continuing to feed our hungry eyes with that fragile noblesse and eerie beauty that only you can give us.

Amen.

DigiCams killed the Photo Booth Star

by Suzanne on October 17th, 2006

Flyer © Wurzeltod - click to see details

Shocked and appalled by the news that in 2007 all analog black & white photo booths in Switzerland will be gone, Wurzeltod™ came up with yet another cunning plan:

I hereby invite you, beloved reader living in the proximity of Zürich, to steal all your kids'/parents'/grandparents' pocket money and come to one of the few remaining Swiss b/w photo booths at Goldbrunnenstrasse¹ in Zürich - provided that it doesn't get destroyed in the meantime.

Our little outdoor Wurzeltod™ Photo Booth Party will take place on November 3, at 19:00 CET (till midnight).

Christoph Balke from SchnellPhoto AG - the company who runs the b/w Agfa paper photo booths - confirmed me that Agfa can't produce the required photo paper anymore and the machines could get picked up and replaced by cheap Chinese photo booths any moment.

In the very sad (but probable) case that we'll only find a hole in the ground, we'll just go to the nearest graveyard and lay all those precious moments that we spent in analog photo booths to rest. Hence the vodka, the cigarettes and the cigars.

Only fate will tell whether we'll get to take pictures or whether we'll have to attend a funeral. Please dress appropriately.

At any rate, you'll be part of a historic moment.

I hope to see some of you in November.

Yours analogly,

Suzanne

Das englische Fräulein

by Suzanne on October 10th, 2006

Scintillating Venuses © Kris Lewis - click to enlarge

INTERNA

My beloved brother has a blog now. I'm so proud. Make sure to watch his vampire short film if you haven't seen it yet.

I'm having incredible fun with my new translation tool at the bottom of the left sidebar. If it already says the darndest things in the languages I do understand, I assume it totally sabotages my blog and spits out loads of insults in Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Huzzah!
