Agreed. Big fucking waste of everyone’s time and video space.

It’s like Punishment Park 40 years on with EVERYTHING done completely wrong. Massive FAIL.

Exhibition Reminder: Alice Anderson’s “Time Reversal” closing at Riflemaker, London

by Suzanne on April 24th, 2010

Doll’s Mask N. 5 by Alice Anderson & Mme Tussauds, silicon mask, glass eyes, 20 x 25 cm, 2009

Please apologise for the long silence – I’ve been busy doing things of great importance and global urgency that I can’t actually remember anymore. Hmmm.

Anyhow, here’s a super late reminder for my London mates who should be waking up around about now (except Corran of course who tends to wake up with the bats).

Rapunzel by Alice Anderson, synthetic dolls hair, 3000 metres, 2008

Today is the final day of Alice Anderson‘s very hairy Time Reversal show at the beautiful Riflemaker – my favourite gallery space in town.

So get your sorry arses down/up to Soho and thank me later with drugs and strippers cakes and puppies!

Still from Doll’s Day by Alice Anderson, 2008

Oh, and you can buy a lovely little exhibition booklet (powered by Riflemaker) at the gallery (or get your scissors and Pritt® sticks ready and download a PDF of it here)

Oh, SpitiFields! You do spoil me. First I get to meet the absolutely lovely and wonderfully creative Viveka Goyanes of AmoelBarroco fame and fortune and then, you give me a new Chinese friend.

Say hello to Mr. Ann Ato Mee. Yes, you can indeed take his brains out, but I must say I rather like his collectivised zen Mao smile.

Artwork in the background is a gift by the very generous and talented Chris Conn Askew, btw.

“I can’t stand that face. It’s so strangely rubbery and flat and it seems painful to watch when one of its orifices closes. The eyelids and lips are too tight, the eyes too watery and it makes me feel so UNEASY”
