The cold's gotten into my knee --
the old rugby injury, don'cha know --
and my knee's blown out, and I'm
back on my walking stick. Lucky I
got a new one for Xmas. The handle
is a carved wooden cobra. It somehow
got knocked when it was brought
over to the house Xmas Eve, and it
now has a fang missed.

A cobra with one fang. Weirdly
apt for someone who turned 37
the other day.

So I've hobbled to the pub on my
walking stick, feeling like a right
idiot. I hate sticks. God knows what
I look like. Long leather jacket.
Headphones hanging out of the
pocket. Mountain-man beard.
Walking stick. Gimme a stupid hat
and a facial tic and I can be an
extra in a Wes Anderson movie.
Quirky Street Person #5.

Oh, I am cranky today.
