Nudestudy by Gary Baseman, 2007, mixed media
It seems Gary Baseman has set out to conquer the Italo-hispanic art world with his sugar rush-inducing oeuvre of doom (I haven’t added “of doom” to anything in a while).
The show – peculiarly titled Knowledge Comes from Gas Release – will feature nearly 50 new works and is due to open Thursday at Iguapop Gallery in Barcelona, Spain.
Sadly, I haven’t found any artwork previews on either Gary‘s nor Iguapop‘s site yet. Please keep checking both sites for further information.
According to Juxtapoz, The Baseman will then travel to Rome for a live painting performance at the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo (Saturday, July 12) and to sign toys, books and new-born babies at MondoPOP Gallery (Sunday, July 13).
Below are the details for the Iguapop show.
Opening reception: Thursday, July 3, 2008
On show: July 3 – August 2, 2008
Opening times: Mon: 5 – 9 PM, Tue – Sat: 11 AM – 2:30 PM / 5 – 9 PM
Address: Iguapop Gallery & Shop, Comerç 15, 08003 Barcelona, Spain, tel:+34 933 100 735
