It's the time of the year again when I can passionately and wholeheartedly boycott all coverage of the travesty that is Art Basel Miami Beach. There might be worse and more capitalist art fairs in other galaxies, but it's very, very hard to imagine.

But let's move on to more positive art news:

Earlier this week, Illuminate - a three-person group show featuring the works of Michelle "MIA" Araujo, Angelique Houtkamp & Robert Bellm (a rather arbitrary mix of styles, I must admit) - opened at Corey Helford in Culver City.

I think Mia's works truly show all that can be glorious and great about the much dreaded fantasy art genre when it's done right and I'm very glad to see that her works get more and more attention these days.

Good old Johann Heinrich Füssli would approve, methinks.

Glad to hear someone else feels the same way about Miami. The gushing reports and go$$ip sicken me. It's not a place I aspire to in any way.

Thanks for getting in touch, Elizabeth, and sorry for the late reply.

I'm so glad it's all over now and we can all enjoy great art for another year until ABMB will hit us again with more decadence and commercialism. Ack.

Lots of love to you. x
