Another show that opens tomorrow in Paris is the sculpture/photography duet Rodin - Sugimoto at the Parisian branch of the Gagosian Gallery.

Rodin’s sculptures (including pieces from the epic "Gates of Hell", weeeee!) will be exhibited in juxtaposition with a series of photographs by the great Hiroshi Sugimoto.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm not even sure whether the above photograph from his breathtaking Diorama series will be on show, but I've fallen in love with it ever since I first saw it at the Kunstmuseum Luzern in 2008 and now I finally have an excuse to post it here. Yay!

Opening reception: Tomorrow, Feb 11, 2011, 4 - 8 PM

On show: Feb 11 - March 25, 2011

Address: Gagosian Gallery, 4 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, tel: 33.1.75.00.05.92, email: paris@gagosian.com | Map

Gallery hours: Mon - Fri: 11 AM – 7 PM

From the Dioramas series by Hiroshi Sugimoto

I bought the top two as prints last autumn at the Sugimoto show in Lucerne. Sugimoto has many exhibitions planned all over the world for the next few years, so check out his photographs when he’s near you.
