THEE INSANELY GOOD NEWS

My dear friend Mike from Sizemore.co.uk - who likes quilt making and knitting scary Japanese movies and munkies with rabies - will be joining us here shortly from his Notting Hill residence in London.

He's our specialist for Aboriginal languages and he'll be mainly assisting Juju and me with our research on the reasons behind the albino chinchilla baby boom in Papua New Guinea and its dramatic influence on the global biological diversity. Oh, and he'll post pie recipes and knitting patterns.

THEE GOOD NEWS

• The feeds seem to be working now. At least the Atom 0.3 and the RSS 2.0 feed. And honestly, I don't care whether they work with your compost-powered feed reader from Volgograd or not.

• Gravatars® are activated. Click here to find out more about Gravatars®.

• I made a shiny navigation bar. Woooo.

• I added a randomizing header with three designs which were provided by my ever enchanting friend Ray Caesar.

• The totalitarian regime of the "center" & target="_new" tags has been overthrown. Liberté pour les sans-culottes électroniques! Mwah!

• Posts will be shorter. Also, there will be fewer words, fwr vwls nd mr cnsnnts!

THEE NOT SO GOOD NEWS

It looks like my server is experiencing most mysterious weekday downtimes from noon till 2 PM. I contacted my host and he' s investigating the cause of this bug.

THEE ABOMINABLY BAD NEWS

My motherboard got completely fried this weekend and I can't afford to pay the repair costs for my PC. So please be patient if you send me emails - it might take me a while to get online and reply. I have no idea how long this situation will remain.

HELP

• Background images for posts: If anyone knows how to create semi-transparent background images for my posts, please email me.

• Mac users with Safari and/or Firefox: I'd be very grateful if you could report any problems you might encounter when viewing this site. Thankies.

Corpus Delectable

by Juju on August 8th, 2005

Death, Dolls, Rabbits, Mutants, Circuses, Drugs, Propaganda, Suicide, Religion and GMO what more could you ask for... mmm... mmm... ok I might have missed the Sex and Rock 'n' Roll

Death
Corpus Delectable

A beautiful corpse in beautiful surroundings... I think I may have a new fetish, for play dead Japanese girls in airports - surely that must have an Eno soundtrack

Dolls
I have a soft spot for Russian Dolls and there are some unusual examples at The Wurst Gallery, I particularly liked the Fawn Gehweiler ones.

Rabbits
Now I quite fancy an Alice in Wonderland remake that's like the American McGee game... But Buffy! That's just not right! (You can see from the date on that news article just how long it's taken me to finalise this post - jeepers)

Mutants
Mutant

Beautiful mutants from Mark Mothersbaugh (yeah him from DEVO)

Circuses
Welkom bij circusmuseum.nl!

Drugs
A whole Flickr feature on vintage drug ads

Propaganda
I do love a bit of propaganda this time with a decidely Spanish feel

Suicide
One man's quest to out do the bunnies...

Religion

Icelandic modernist churches
... the Hallgrimskirkja is truly awe inspiring

GMO
These little beauties are unnervingly real
