Ken-ichi Murata is an incurable and devoted anachronist: Born in Osaka in 1957 - where he still lives and works - he takes his photographs on b/w film and later meticulously retouches them to give their protagonists an eerie and other-worldly aura.

Even though both he and Araki have a similar love affair with bondage, stockings, plastic godzillas and dinos, Murata manages like no other to hide blatantly erotic themes & exploitative scenes behind the sickly sweet powdery pastel tapestry of a Victorian dolls' house.
