With a selection of great spooky art, Eclectix Gallery drastically reminds us that Samhain is upon us in less than a month. Eeeeep!

Strange Brew features a multitude of different artists - ranging from horror classicists like Isabel Samaras & Saratoga Sake, to the uncanny mixed media art of the likes of JB Lowe, Kerry Kate, Craig LaRotonda, Mark Mothersbaugh and even a few protagonists from the newly labelled The Upset "movement" like Chris Buzelli, for instance (one fine day, when I'm 99, I'll write the greatest art anthology in the history of anthologies under the title "The Blah". Yes.)

Strange Brew opens tonight, 7 PM.

There will be a mask making event on November 2, to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos. Sweet!

I might actually call it "Whatsherface's History of Art" instead. :)

I'll add you to the preorder list. You'll get an early copy signed with my own blood and lipstick - just like the cool kids do it these days.

On another note, did you receive my email?

Yes, I did! So sorry for not being able to reply yet.

It moved me tremendously to get such positive feedback for what I'm doing here and I'm so glad you enjoyed the "Retinal Delights" show and reported back to me about it in so much visual detail - wish I could have seen Schorr's King Kong in person. It did look intimidatingly magnificent on the show photographs I've seen so far. I have a tiny torn poster (I can't afford editions of artworks, so getting a poster/flyer/postcard sent to me is some kind of a luxury already!) for Todd Schorr's "The Golden Age of Hypocrisy" hanging in my kitchen and it makes me so happy everytime I make myself a cup of tea. :D

I also had no idea that "The Creatrix" was really that detailed. I only have an A5 greeting card of it and to think that there is actually a driver sitting inside that tiny car in the bottom right corner is just absolutely mind-boggling! o_O

It's so generous of you to offer me a catalogue and I'd completely understand if you want to keep it for yourself once it's being (re)printed. I'd of course pay for it. Please keep me posted when they're available again and I'll give you my address.

Thanks again for your fascinating email - it was very inspiring to read your review of the show!

Ms. Wurzeltod, I love this place, it has so much visual energy and wonderful inspiration, plus it has worldwide coverage of a special kind of art - the gallery announcements are priceless info in themselves, as it inspired me to get off my ass and up to Laguna. The sardonic wit on display is also a big plus, Hehe!

I bought three catalogues, one for me and two for gifts to people who would appreciate them, you being one of them, as I know it wouldn't be probable you'd make it across the Pond to sunny So Cal. When it arrives, I'll send it along to wherever you want, and its a GIFT - no payment is allowed. Thank you for your hard and wonderful work here!

Awww.. thank you so much, Vanwall! You have no idea how encouraging your words are!

The best compliment to get, however, is knowing that people go to see great art that they wouldn't have done without reading about the exhibitions here.

You are an incredibly kind and generous person. May you be recompensed ten thousand fold!
